The Zero Waste group is built around a simple idea — most things that get thrown away don’t need to be. We help people in Silsden get more out of what they already own, and waste less in the process.
Running a monthly Repair Café where volunteers fix clothes, electricals, bikes and more
Monthly popup Refill Shop selling eco friendly household products and personal care
Organising community collections including for unwanted tech, tools, textiles, stationery, medication and bikes
Local litter picks
Practical, visible work happening across Silsden right now.
Dig deeper into the projects we run and the guides we’ve put together.
Nearly 40 addresses in Silsden will, from 11am – 3pm on Sept 13, have a stall outside their house where they will be selling everything and anything that they no longer need — books, clothes, houseplants, toys, homewares, garden tools – the list is endless. Registrations to have a stall have ended but you can now access a digital or paper map to help you to plan your route around Silsden to find the stalls. You can pick up some bargains while helping to reduce waste. The digital map is here – you can use it on your phone as you go around – or you can pick up a copy of the paper map at Silsden Post Office or Olive and Green.
